Using painting, ceramics, and textiles, Poppy examines the origins of social conventions to discover what drives today’s values and belief systems, and how they contradict human instinct.  Over the course of her BFA in Studio Art at New York University, a retrospective, nostalgia-driven approach to art-making has evolved into an active means of understanding the people and stories which make up her present surroundings. For Thomas, art is the tangible transcription of the remarkable nature of daily existence.
